New School Part-Time Faculty (ACT-UAW Local 7902) 

  • Raises to minimum rates range from 28% to 155% over five years with guaranteed annual increases each year, pay for pre-semester prep work, and longevity bonuses.
  • A right to reappointment and cancellation fee if a class is canceled last-minute.
  • Healthcare coverage to faculty who teach just one course a year. 
  • A $100k per year professional development fund that is administered by faculty, not administration.
  • Academic Freedom: Right to freedom of expression and protection from unjust discipline and discharge.

NYU Adjunct Faculty (ACT-UAW Local 7902) 

  • NYU adjunct faculty negotiated a 34% first-year raise and compensation for work performed outside of the classroom such as grading and syllabus prep.
  • NYU adjunct faculty increased access to healthcare coverage, retirement benefits, professional development funds, commuter support, and more.

Barnard Contingent Faculty (BCF-UAW Local 2110) 

  • Barnard contingent faculty negotiated a 16% first-year raise, regular annual raises, increases in per-course pay, compensation for advising and independent studies, retirement contributions, and bonuses. The minimum salary for full-time non-tenure track faculty will be $82,000 by 2024.
  • Barnard contingent faculty won longer contracts and separation pay for longer-serving adjuncts who are not rehired.
  • Barnard contingent faculty negotiated for and won a Scholarship Fund for their children’s college tuition.
